Reuben Alexander’s signature soul sound is highlighted by musician mastery and is a unique blend of smooth R&B, soulful funk and pop. He creates a fresh sound of classic soul with contemporary pop essence. The foundation of the new project is based on a core collaboration with Grammy Award Winning, RIAA Platinum Certified producer Josh Stevens.

The soon to be released album "In Reality" encompasses Alexander’s unique ability to reflect on human emotions with emotive and introspective lyrics highlighting love, loss and hope. Alexander explains how storytelling and observing others including himself is at the root of all of his creative expression. "The songs can come from anywhere at anytime. I've had it happen in dreams and I record it right away. I can be in the shower, in the car or walking and something hits me”

"In Reality" is a true collaboration with Alexander enlisting other featured artists bringing a multitude of various influences to the music.  Artists appearing on the record include Grammy Award Winning blues-rock phenomenon Micki Free, Jennifer Phillips (X-Factor UK), Thurz and renown funk musician Nathanial Phillips of PLEASURE.

Reuben Alexander found inspiration from listening to the classic records of Quincy Jones, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder, which is evident throughout his writing. The album presents significant funk and soul elements, whilst maintaining current pop appeal. He succeeded in creating a body of music that listeners can connect to both emotionally and physically.  This stunning fusion of hypnotic tones and deep bass rhythms is guaranteed to get audiences moving. "I want the album to move people musically, lyrically and emotionally. It's really important to connect” confides Alexander.

The music highlights self-appreciation with Alexander emphasizing taking action in one's life and standing up for your own authority. This is evident in the single “Gotta Give It” which focuses on the importance of a life with purpose and passion. The song blends old-school funk with modern electronic vibes. It’s soulful, upbeat and catchy, with a vibrant brass section, creating the ultimate feel-good track. While “I Cant Stop” showcases Alexander’s more soulful smooth R&B approach; including romantic lyrics, laid-back harmonic vocals and a sexy melody. 

Alexander’s previous musical endeavor LIVIN OUT LOUD found significant success in the UK, with press labeling them as America’s “best kept secret”. Other successes include a sold-out tour with Ne-Yo, charting in Europe and multiple singles going to #1.
